Who we are

Cristina Bernasconi
Cristina has been practicing as a lawyer in the energy and commodity sector since 2004. At first she was with a major Swiss utility, where she advised on the corporate and commercial activities of the Italian and Eastern European subsidiaries of the group and supported the Swiss trading entity. She later relocated to London to join the legal department of a German investment bank, where during more than 5 years she advised the fixed income department on physical and derivative trading of a broad range of commodities. More recently Cristina joined the London based subsidiary of one of the largest global oil and gas conglomerates, where she was directly involved in the set-up of its European energy trading activities and in the development of the global LNG desk. Cristina's core competence is in physical and derivative commodity transactions. She has particular expertise in  gas&power and emissions trading, LNG, physical coal and metals (base and precious), including negotiating standard terms and industry agreements (ISDA, EFET, GTMA, SCoTA), drafting sale and purchase contracts (master agreements, single agreements and T&Cs) and other agreements including commodity pre-payment and repurchase agreements, and undertaking trading and operational due diligence in numerous European jurisdictions. Cristina has experience in cross-border transactions and speaks (and works in) Italian, English, German, French and Spanish.
 
Cristina was born in Switzerland, where she grew up. She holds a degree from Zurich University law school and an LLM in international law from George Washington University. She is admitted to the New York and the Zurich bar.
